Required Skills & Experience
• B.S.E.E. from an accredited university or equivalent experience required.
• 4-7 years of relevant electrical engineering design with a preferred focus on building power, lighting, and systems projects for commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities.
• Experience selecting equipment and troubleshooting systems.
• Knowledge of the electrical construction trade, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and of the National Electric Code (NEC).
• Proficiency in MS Office - specifically Excel, OneNote, Outlook and Word.
• Relevant experience using Bluebeam and industry specific software such as SKM, Aspen, and/or EasyPower.
• Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Experience and ability to collaborate and work in a team setting

A Client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing essential engineering functions required for various projects, including electrical power service and distribution, branch circuits, indoor and outdoor lighting and lighting controls, fire alarm systems, telephone and data infrastructure wiring, audio/visual systems, and miscellaneous electrical and control systems. This role involves developing construction documents (drawings and specifications) and advising clients on electrical systems and requirements to meet their needs while ensuring compliance with applicable codes.
The successful candidate will lead electrical project design, directing tasks to Drafter/Designers and Apprentice Level Engineers as per the Principal Engineer's requirements. Responsibilities include performing field inspections to verify existing site conditions, developing project requirements, and effectively coordinating with internal and external design team members. The role also involves solving complex problems with minimal oversight, providing guidance to the construction team to ensure full design implementation, and managing project activities related to the electrical discipline, including budget reviews, schedule updates, and establishing project communications, standards, and files.
