Overview:
A well-established and highly respected Miami-based consulting engineering firm with over 35 years of service is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their growing team.
This role will focus on the design and project management of electrical and fire alarm systems for complex building types, including commercial, hospitality, multifamily, and high-rise projects. The position offers a dynamic work environment, leadership growth potential, and exposure to a diverse range of challenging projects in the South Florida market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the design and development of electrical and fire alarm systems for a variety of commercial and residential building projects.
- Coordinate effectively with architects, MEP consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure design excellence and project success.
- Manage project phases from concept design through to construction administration, ensuring quality control and code compliance throughout.
- Prepare, review, and oversee the production of electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and construction documentation.
- Ensure all projects comply with NEC, local codes, and relevant safety standards.
- Participate in client meetings, site inspections, and project presentations, providing leadership in both design and project coordination.
- Serve as a technical mentor and leader to junior engineering staff.
- Support the firm's high standards of client service, design innovation, and technical accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 10+ years of experience designing electrical and fire alarm systems for complex building types (commercial, hospitality, multifamily, high-rise).
- PE license in Florida preferred.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD for MEP design and documentation is required.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, Florida Building Codes, and general engineering practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to represent the firm in client meetings and presentations.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage projects and mentor team members.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
