Job Description
Design and Development:
• Communicate, build, and create buy-in for project specifications
• Develop and design electrical control systems, circuits, and automation solutions for packaging equipment
• Confidently communicate at both a technical and non-technical level with R&D, Sales, and Customer leadership
• Work with internal and external manufacturing as required
• Conduct risk assessments and develop safety protocols
Testing and Commissioning:
• Development and execution of high-quality test plans to quantify machine performance
• Perform electrical and functional testing on prototypes and finished products
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to ensure performance and requirements are met or exceeded
Automation technology and Process improvements:
• Ensure all electrical systems comply with food industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices
• Stay up to date with the "State of the Art" - what is new in the Food Packaging industry, what is new in equipment manufacturing and emerging technologies
• Assist with the development and continuous improvement of controls software and hardware
Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated history of professional and technical leadership
• 0 - 5 years of hands-on experience working with industrial equipment
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and motor control systems
• Experience with electrical wiring, circuit design, and troubleshooting
• Demonstrated success leading projects or initiatives within a large organization
• Broad technical knowledge, including the ability to read drawings and schematics
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate technical ideas and concepts
• Strong interpersonal skills and a work ethic that corresponds with Sealed Air's core values
