An established engineering services provider is seeking a skilled QC/QA Electrical Design Supervisor to lead quality assurance efforts across electrical utility distribution design and construction projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive quality control reviews of preliminary and final electrical distribution designs.
  • Ensure compliance with design standards, construction specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of planners and designers across various utility projects.
  • Oversee work order delegation, team workload, and review of project scopes for both overhead and underground systems.
  • Analyze site plans, identifying and correcting design inconsistencies or inaccuracies.
  • Contribute to infrastructure replacement programs, including Grid Resiliency and targeted overhead scope initiatives.
  • Maintain and enhance quality control policies and procedures for distribution operations.
  • Stay informed on industry developments, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to elevate design quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in electrical utility (distribution/transmission design, construction, or engineering).
  • Expertise in quality control standards and practices within the utility sector.
  • Proficiency in pole loading software (SPIDA, O-Calc), AutoCAD/AUD/Microstation preferred.
  • Solid understanding of technical documentation, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and supervising technical teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
