A highly regarded, multi-disciplinary building services consultancy based in Bexley is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team. Known for delivering innovative and technically robust solutions, the firm is involved in a wide range of landmark projects across the UK, Europe, and internationally.
Role Overview
The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end design of electrical systems within buildings, working across commercial, healthcare, residential, education, and mixed-use developments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background and a proactive approach to delivering excellence in design and client service.
Key Responsibilities
Design and specification of low voltage electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, security, and data systems
Carry out design calculations and produce detailed technical drawings and reports
Liaise with architects, mechanical engineers, and contractors to ensure integrated design delivery
Participate in design team and client meetings, contributing to technical decisions and project strategy
Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations
Work on projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, deadlines, and client expectations
Requirements
Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a consultancy or contractor environment
Proficient in design tools such as AutoCAD, Dialux/Relux, and preferably Revit MEP
Thorough understanding of UK Building Regulations, BS7671, and CIBSE guidance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with international standards or overseas projects is advantageous
