Overview:
Seeking an experienced Electrical / Controls Manager with a strong background in electrical engineering and team leadership. The ideal candidate is highly organized, hands-on with electrical design, and motivated to grow and develop a high-performing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the electrical and commissioning teams (3+ engineers and contractors).
- Oversee electrical design activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with US and international standards.
- Review and create electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical (EPLAN experience also considered).
- Prepare task lists and manage engineering workflows for projects.
- Ensure quality control across all electrical documentation and designs.
- Drive project progress, including scheduling, resource allocation, and on-site execution (up to 30% travel).
- Support team development through mentorship and performance management.
- Optimize use of existing knowledge, drawing templates, and BOMs across projects.
- Standardize drafting/programming methods and improve engineering standards.
- Handle departmental administration (timesheets, hiring, evaluations, etc.).
- Manage internal and external resources (hardware, software, contractors).
- Participate in continuous improvement of engineering processes and project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (programming experience a plus).
- Strong understanding of US and international electrical codes and cabinet design.
- Proficiency in reading and producing electrical drawings (AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN).
- Prior experience managing engineering teams.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Driven to grow and improve departmental performance.
