The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Valparaiso University invites applications for a one-year, visiting faculty position beginning in Fall 2025.
The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching engineering undergraduate students. They will also be able to interact and effectively communicate with students and faculty from diverse backgrounds. The candidate selected for the visiting professor position will teach required and/or elective courses in electrical and computer engineering, capstone design, and general engineering courses. Candidates must have earned at least an M.S. degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related fields are preferred. Successful candidates are expected to prepare and deliver high quality classes. They will receive support to enhance their teaching effectiveness and will be granted release time to observe classes and laboratories taught by the faculty in the department and will have the chance to participate in a group-taught course to work directly with experienced faculty. The senior faculty in the department will also help the candidate develop course materials and observe their teaching to provide constructive feedback. Additionally, the visiting faculty member will be provided with funds and time release to attend a pedagogic workshop and/or a professional conference.
