Eagle Electric Machinery, a top-tier provider of electric motor services, is looking for an Electric Motor Mechanic to join their team in Sulphur, LA.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Electric Motor Mechanic:
  • Repair AC motors up to 4160V and select DC motors, as well as various pumps, generators, and gearboxes.
  • Perform complete tear-down of electric motors and rotating equipment for repair and evaluation.
  • Inspect mechanical and electrical components to assess condition.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues using specialized testing equipment and established procedures.
  • Record precise measurements of frames and shafts, including mic fits and shaft runout tolerances.
  • Conduct core testing to verify the integrity of stator windings and insulation systems.
  • Prepare detailed reports and work scopes based on inspection and test results.
  • Replace bearings and other worn components as part of the repair process.
  • Balance rotors, fans, and other rotating parts using a balance machine to meet tolerance specifications.
  • Clean and blast components to remove contaminants and prepare for reassembly.
  • Reassemble motors and equipment following manufacturer specifications and best practices.
  • Perform test runs and record electrical performance and vibration readings to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Apply paint and protective coatings as part of the final finishing process.
