The Elder Law Associate Attorney will represent clients in Guardianship, Probate, and Estate Planning practice areas and use their skills in these practice areas to assist clients in their families applying for Medicaid and transitioning to long term care as well as with their other Elder Law needs. The Elder Law Associate Attorney will manage the Firm's Rogers office and will build strong relationships with referral sources for the Firm in the area: Law Firms, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living and other similar providers and facilities. Additionally, the Elder Law Associate Attorney will meet with prospective clients and their families who are considering the transition to long term care or are in need of other Elder Law services. The Elder Law Associate Attorney will be able to answer their questions about the transition to long term care and let prospective clients and their families know about services the Firm offers to assist with the transition to long term care and their other Elder Law needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent Probate, Guardianship, and Estate Planning clients.
  • Planning and organizing meetings to develop referral relationships with peers, outside companies serving the same market, and community organizations.
  • Keeps Firm management informed by submitting activity and results reports, including weekly updates and documenting progress towards monthly and quarterly milestones.
  • Suggest changes in services and policy by reporting results and developments to the Firm.
  • Maintains professional knowledge by staying current on long term care Medicaid policy changes and participating in training offered by the Firm.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Diligently protect confidential or sensitive information from improper disclosure.
  • Ability to confidently plan and execute meetings with prospective referral sources and those interested in Elder Law services.
  • Great attitude, attention to detail, and legal research skills.
  • Demonstrated client skills with the ability to discuss difficult issues and present positive solutions.
  • Solid grasp of computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Westlaw, EFlex electronic filing, and Legal Case Management software generally (specifically, Smokeball) is especially helpful.

Compensation package:

  • Base salary with personal production incentive, health vision and dental insurance after 90 days, and vacation leave after 6 months.
