Software Engineer specializing in the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats) to contribute to the Integrated Defensive Cyber Systems Contract. This role is part of an important program, working on mission-critical products that influence senior leadership decisions.

Primary Responsibilities: - Design and develop scalable data ingestion pipelines using Logstash, Beats, and other methodologies for real-time and batch data processing.
- Craft and maintain complex Elasticsearch queries and aggregations for insightful data analysis and reporting.
- Customize and maintain Kibana dashboards and visualizations to deliver clear, actionable insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Develop backend services and APIs ensuring seamless interaction with the Elastic Stack and enhancing data accessibility.
- Optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of Elasticsearch clusters, addressing bottlenecks and ensuring high availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the Elastic Stack spanning ingestion, indexing, querying, and visualization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams through code reviews and architectural discussions, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Stay abreast of developments in the Elastic Stack and emerging technologies, applying best practices for continuous system enhancement.
- Contribute to the architecture and evolution of the enterprise data platform, aligning solutions with business and technical goals.
- Actively engage in agile workflows, including sprint planning and retrospectives to drive team alignment and iterative improvements.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or a Master's with 6+ years of experience, with additional experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
- At least 10 years of professional software development experience, focusing on scalable, distributed systems.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats), including design and optimization.
- In-depth understanding of Elasticsearch indexing strategies and search query optimization.
- Proven experience in configuring and maintaining Logstash pipelines, including filter and plugin integration.
- Experience creating and managing Kibana dashboards for diverse user needs.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or Go for backend development.
- Strong background in building and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git, including collaborative workflows.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a history of resolving complex technical challenges.
- Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities, with experience in agile environments.
- A current Secret clearance is required, with the capability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with data analysis and machine learning model development.
- Knowledge of software quality assurance and testing across various technologies.
- Command-line git experience.
- Experience with Linux CLI and scripting.
- Exposure to Elastic Cloud or similar cloud-based Elasticsearch environments.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch security features.
- Experience with additional data processing technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark).
- Experience in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Possession of Elastic certifications.

Pay Range: $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
