A chemical engineering and manufacturing company is seeking an EHS Specialist to sit onsite in their Norwich, CT location. This role is responsible for helping to keep standard operating procedures up to date. In order to do so youll work with the EHS team to track and document all employee safety training, conduct daily lab safety inspections, keep safety licenses up to date, and support training of new hires on basic safety. On a weekly basis youll inspect safety showers, eye wash stations, hazardous waste areas, fire extinguishers, emergency lights, spill kits, PPE and first aid kits. In this role youll also be responsible for keeping all PPE in stock, unpacking and properly store all incoming chemicals. On a daily basis youll act as the primary emergency coordinator and initiate evacuations procedure in the event of an emergency as well as schedule waste pickup, and sign hazardous waste manifest to keep on file for biannual report to EPA.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelors degree in safety, environmental health, industrial hygiene, health physics, or chemical/scientific degree
2+ years of experience in safety and health work experience.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910, 29 CFR 1926, 29 CFR 1904, and 29 CFR 1960)
Ability to learn new software
Proficient in Microsoft Suite/365
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Background in Chemical Manufacturing industry
