The EHS Safety Coordinator will be responsible for assisting to minimize the risk of job-related accidents. They will monitor operations to eliminate hazardous activities. They will train, manage, implement, and promote policies to drive a positive safe work environment and culture.
EHS Coordinators should be well-versed in the OSHA standards. They will be focused on prevention and need to be diligent and analytical. They will possess a keen eye for detail and for potential dangers.
Essential Functions
- Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks and accidents on projects.
- Enforce company and client policies. (e.g., accident reporting process)
- Take part in accident investigation procedures.
- Schedule and conduct training as required.
- Collaborate with project leadership to monitor compliance and identify safety issues.
- Intervene in unsafe activities or operations.
- Teaching supervisors, managers, and employees in the company about company standards.
- Ensuring compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations.
- Completing project audits and reviewing with project teams.
- Reviews Samsara and ensures that coaching is being completed.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours of work vary. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position will be 80% field and 20% office.
Travel
Ability to travel up to 50% on a regular basis with flexibility to increase when need is presented.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
- Preferred 5 years of experience in the HSE compliance with a strong working knowledge of OSHA.
- Able to perform training in a classroom and field setting.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in using software, databases, and Microsoft Office.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for creating positive employee experiences.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Preferred OSHA 30 within the past 4 years, or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days.
- A positive and approachable attitude, with a knack for building rapport with new employees.
- Valid Drivers License with a driving history that meets or exceeds Vortex Standards.
