Company Description The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) is a nonprofit organization composed of health care professionals committed to the practice of genetics and genomics. ACMG was incorporated in 1991 to give national representation to providers of genetic services and their patients with genetic disorders and to speak for the emerging specialty of medical genetics in organizations and agencies concerned with medical service, certification, and regulatory issues. ACMG provides education, resources, and a voice for the medical genetics profession and its mission is to improve health through genetics and genomics.
ACMG is the only nationally recognized interdisciplinary professional membership organization that represents the interests of the entire medical genetics team including clinical geneticists, clinical laboratory geneticists, and genetic counselors. Together, the ACMG and its members engage in coordinated efforts to improve patient care, ensure optimal reimbursement for genetic service providers, establish standards of care and laboratory policy, and educate members about advances important to their practices.
Job Description The Education Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Education Department. This position will report directly to the Director of Education and will collaborate with the Meetings & Exhibits department, as well as other key departments, ACMG leadership, volunteer members and staff. The Education Administrative Assistant will provide short-term support, organizing data, maintaining department files, and supporting other educational and programmatic needs of ACMG. This role is a 3-month contractor position, not to exceed 15 hours a week.
General Education Department Support 100% - Compile and organize meeting data (e.g., session attendance, evaluation summaries).
- Assist with formatting PowerPoint presentations and internal reports using provided content and templates.
- Support documentation clean-up and light data entry projects related to past educational events.
- Organize shared folders and files as instructed.
- Other similar administrative tasks as requested consistent with this entry-level scope.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree required; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant administrative/clerical support experience required.
- Ability to maintain productive and professional working relationships with team members, volunteers, and external partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess a professional presence and strong work ethic and commitment to customer service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Additional InformationPay Range: $25 per hour.
