Job Purpose

The EDI Business Analyst will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT, focusing on Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems within the logistics and supply chain domain. This role will be responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, identifying EDI solutions, driving process improvements, and ensuring successful implementation of EDI projects. Operating under guidance from management, the analyst will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to streamline B2B integrations and optimize EDI processes.


Key Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to EDI transactions and workflows.

Work with stakeholders to identify EDI gaps and recommend process improvements.

Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams to ensure EDI solutions meet business needs.

Manage and support EDI onboarding, mapping, and testing for trading partners.

Ensure EDI integrations comply with relevant standards (X12, EDIFACT, XML).

Create functional specifications, user documentation, and training materials.

Monitor EDI transaction flow and troubleshoot data and communication issues.

Participate in EDI-related project planning, execution, and stakeholder reporting.

Support change management, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-go-live validation.

Stay current on industry trends, EDI tools, and integration technologies.


Knowledge, Experience & Skills


Education & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).


Experience

3+ years as an EDI Business Analyst or in a similar role.

Experience working in logistics, supply chain, or transportation industries preferred.

Strong knowledge of EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT, XML) and protocols.

Proficiency with EDI tools (e.g., IBM Sterling Integrator).

Familiarity with ERP, WMS, and TMS systems integration.

Understanding of EDI mapping, data transformation, and partner onboarding.

Experience writing business and functional requirements and conducting user training.

Knowledge of SQL or database querying is a plus.
