Job Description
As an
E-commerce Merchandising Specialist , you will be responsible for ensuring that all products and services are correctly categorized and attributed, supporting both customer navigation and internal reporting. You'll play a key role in optimizing how products are presented and discovered across our site, driving conversion and improving user experience.
Key Responsibilities - Maintain and manage the product categorization structure (taxonomy) across all verticals (e.g., travel, entertainment, attractions, shows, shopping products).
- Classify products/services accurately into appropriate categories, subcategories, and attributes.
- Partner with merchandising, product, and data teams to align taxonomy updates with business goals and consumer behavior.
- Perform regular audits of category data to identify and correct inconsistencies, gaps, or errors.
- Analyze product performance by category to identify opportunities for optimization and refinement.
- Monitor and report on search trends, filter usage, and customer navigation patterns to improve categorization logic and structure.
- Support new product/service onboarding by ensuring timely and accurate categorization.
- Ensure tools and systems that rely on categorization (e.g., site navigation, search, recommendation engines, analytics platforms) are accurately updated and seamlessly functional.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving navigation, search relevance, and overall discoverability based on data and customer feedback.
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects, such as site reorganization, product launches, or promotional campaigns, where categorization plays a critical role.
Qualifications: Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in digital marketing or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in e-commerce, merchandising, product data management, or related fields.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with product information management (PIM) systems, content management systems (CMS), or similar platforms.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a problem-solving mindset.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience with data management and analysis in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Knowledge of User Experience (UX) and market research a plus.
