The Role

STEQ is seeking a well-motivated and enthusiastic individual who brings a strong background and understanding of the pharma and biotech manufacturing arena. This individual is looking to start a career in the challenging world of capital sales in life sciences and will sell and provide technical support for the aseptic and cGMP processing equipment segment of STEQ's Life Science business.

This exciting high-profile full-time position will work directly with the Sales Director and be professionally mentored to mature as a territory sales manager representing multiple cGMP state-of-the-art equipment product lines, along with maintaining and developing the STEQ brand.

This is a business development role with a process focused on securing on-site customer visits and presenting process solutions that lead to sales to clients with an engineering background. A minimum of 50% travel is expected in this role to succeed. Candidate should be located on the East Coast within easy commuting distance of a major pharmaceutical hub.

The equipment solutions presented require a high level of technological understanding to secure the confidence of potential clients. The ideal candidate will have a STEM background and be willing to invest the time required to increase their knowledge of Biopharma manufacturing processes and regulations. Training may include travel to customer sites for installation, qualification and servicing of equipment. Candidate will be required to support hands-on services with manufacturing process-support automated machinery to gain in-depth knowledge of equipment function and process benefits.


Job Functions

  • Target existing and new customers to generate leads, secure customer visits, and grow market share. Build a strong sales network by fostering positive relationships with customers.
  • Ongoing self-education to develop a strong understanding of mechanical concepts as they apply to manufacturing practices and aseptic processes.
  • Assist with review of customer URS' (user requirement specifications), preparation of RFQ/RFP responses, and drafting of proposals.
  • Visit targeted engineering firms to assist in the presentation of technical materials to promote STEQ equipment and services. Contribute to the preparation of tailored product presentations.
  • Participating in industry trade conferences networking at local industry relevant events.
  • Develop account-planning activities, monitor and update plan progress, submit updates and reports on schedule. Use of CRM (SalesForce ) will be required
  • Communicate effectively with European Factory product managers and technical personnel and participate in virtual customer-facing sales discussions. Travel for in-person meetings, as necessary. Occasional travel to our European suppliers is also necessary for training, FATs and Sales Meetings, etc.
  • Establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with customers and STEQ colleagues whilst behaving in a professional and responsible manner in accordance with STEQ's Code of Conduct and Values. Respond to all customer and internal staff inquiries in a concise and timely manner. Comply with all company SOPs, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain personal competence for meeting job responsibilities through effective use of product information and technical data. Be proactive in identifying opportunities for career development, education, and training

Requisites

  • Independent, enthusiastic, self-starter, with great attention to detail
  • Outgoing and engaging personality
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, problem-solving, and reporting skills
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to promote positive, professional, and respectful exchanges with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take initiative to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license required. Must travel as required up to 50% in continental US. International travel will be required; must possess, or be able to acquire, required government travel identification documents for domestic and international travel

Experience & Educational Requirements

  • Previous experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry with exposure to manufacturing process is required. Candidates will not be considered without this requirement.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field is preferred.
