Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday Momentum is hiring an Early Intervention Teacher for our Leaps and Bounds program. As the Early Intervention Teacher, you will assess and address the cognitive, social language, and social emotional needs of children with developmental delays in a classroom setting. Early Intervention Teacher Benefits (Full-time): Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance Life Assistance Program Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Paid Holidays Paid Vacation/Sick/Bereavement leave Credit Union Benefits and Discounts $750.00 Referral Bonus Program Retirement Plan (403B) Direct Deposit Early Intervention Teacher Essential Responsibilities: Assists Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists in the completion of developmental assessments Collaborates with Early Intervention Teachers to create and facilitate curriculum and activities to address the individual cognitive, social language and social emotional needs of the children Leads the daily social language/cognition enrichment group as well as oversees the activities in the cognition centers Assumes the role of Session Leader in the classroom and the responsibilities inherent with the role of Session Leader as it relates to the day to day functioning of the classroom Communicates consistently with families, regional center and local school districts Provides support to the members of the multi-disciplinary, early intervention team Oversees the timely completion, review and submission of reports Leads the daily collaboration meetings Attends department and clinic meetings regularly Ensures that the child's and the families' needs are being met by the program Performs other duties assigned to meet department and/or business needs Early Intervention Teacher Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Psychology or related discipline; preferred Knowledge of developmental milestones and developmental disabilities in the early childhood population; required Excellent skills in communication, interpersonal relationships and organization; required Bilingual in English/Spanish Proficient assessment and writing skills; required Computer literacy; required Strong desire to work with individuals with developmental disabilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, health screening, TB screening and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, Momentum is the largest nonprofit provider of direct support for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California.
