DESIGN 1 ENGINEER (job description)
We have partnered with a Global Automotive Firm at their Detroit Michigan Area location to lead a search for their Design 1 Engineer role. Our client is a leader in Auto R&D and this role comes with a tremendous opportunity for growth.
Must Have's
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Design Engineer in the Automotive Industry
- Willing to relocate to the Detroit MI area
- VISA Sponsorship and Relocation Assistance is offered
- MUST HAVE CATIA experience and/or knowledge.
The Design Engineer's two core responsibilities will include the design (CAD/technical) and communications (project coordination).
Design Engineers lead and drive the execution of new product development projects from Design through CAE, Prototyping, and Testing.
You will be designing component parts and make 3D math data and 2D drawings.
You will lead communications between the customer and the designers.
You will assist in determining and meeting customer requirements, along with assessment of product performance, manufacturability, and cost management.
You will set and achieve project objectives, kick-off, milestones, on-time completion and post-project effectiveness analyses.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- MUST HAVE CATIA experience and/or knowledge.
- 1-2 years working experience in the Automotive Industry.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
- 1-2 years of related product design experience.
