JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide overall design guidelines for software and hardware integration, performance, reliability, operating, and security designs.
  • Capture business capability requirements, functional requirements, and expected service levels from business unit. Create EAM solutions that map to an actionable Business-IT roadmap (a long range plan for the business that identifies specific IT investments in applications and infrastructure to support business objectives).
  • Support BU leadership in identifying opportunities for emerging technologies, through collaboration with the EAM architect, to enable business strategies. Provide an advisory role with the clients on the impact of new technologies on their existing technical and information system environments.
  • Ensure business and functional requirements are maintained throughout the development/configuration process.
  • Maintain strong understanding of technology needs and solutions for the business units.
  • Liaison between the client, vendors, project management and the technical team on questions, issues, and revisions to the solution architecture.
  • Manage engagement risk and economics including: planning and budgeting; manage accounts receivable; define deliverable content; ensure buy-in of proposed solutions from business owners
  • Guide complex fit/gap analysis and design decisions and validate fit/gap analysis and design decisions to ensure deviations from "out of the box" functionality have sufficient business justification and positive value proposition
Education required of the position
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum experience required for the position

Solution Architect Sr.:
  • 15+ years of experience architecting, implementing, and managing enterprise asset management solutions/systems
  • Experience in SAP platform architecture, solution design, project envisioning, planning, developing, deployment, and scalability
  • Experience in a minimum of 3 full cycle greenfield SAP implementations
  • Experience in a minimum of 1 full cycle brownfield SAP implementations
  • Experience with converting new acquisitions/mergers into current platforms
  • Experience with SAP ISU
  • Experience with current technology implementation patterns
  • Technical consulting, solution design, project envisioning, planning, developing, and deployment
  • Strong, persuasive communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas both verbally and in written form to technical and non-technical peers
  • Experience and knowledge of integration of SAP enterprise modules (e.g., CRM, MM, FI) and 3rd party applications
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
  • Understanding and practical experience of utility industry application solutions.
  • Working knowledge of architecture concepts and the ability to integrate business needs and technology capabilities.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience in developing field operations technical solutions.
  • Working knowledge in multiple areas of technology (commercial 3rd party applications, software development, end-user platforms, IT operations).
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
  • SAP PM/EAM certification a plus
