The E-commerce Operations Specialist is a cross-functional digital contributor responsible for ensuring product accuracy, platform health, and revenue-driving merchandising across Focus on the Family's online store. This role balances technical operations with marketing-savvy execution, supporting both day-to-day functionality and long-term sales growth. The ideal candidate is an independent executor who understands e-commerce systems and consumer behavior, and who thrives in a mission-driven environment where digital excellence meets ministry purpose.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Strategic & Sales-Driving Responsibilities:
  • Develops and executes digital product merchandising strategies that support ministry goals and increase online conversion
  • Owns the setup, testing, and timely execution of sales promotions and campaign pricing across the e-commerce platform
  • Serves as a stakeholder in digital marketing initiatives involving product placement, promotional planning, and calendar alignment
  • Collaborates with the E-commerce Manager and cross-functional teams to identify and implement optimization strategies for product findability, search performance, and user flow
  • Contributes to revenue growth by identifying underperforming products and recommending strategic improvements to content, categorization, or pricing
  • Researches and identifies new products to be added to the online store based on market needs, gaps, and ministry alignment
  • Identifies sales trends and recommends product or promotional adjustments to leverage growth opportunities
  • Proposes new strategies or initiatives that enhance the profitability of the online store
  • Monitors and analyzes inventory performance to balance product availability with sales velocity; proactively minimize stale inventory and optimize stock levels to support profitability
Operational Responsibilities:
  • Manages the product lifecycle across platforms (BigCommerce, Salesforce, Aprimo), ensuring all data is accurate, current, and aligned across systems
  • Coordinates product ingestion processes and asset management workflows in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors
  • Monitors inventory levels and back-order statuses; proactively communicates risks and resolution plans to stakeholders
  • Ensures marketing emails and digital promotions are accurately linked, tagged, and timed for execution
  • Manages digital subscription access and product availability within Focus digital platforms
  • Generates reports on promotional performance, product availability, and coupon usage to inform data-driven decisions
  • Educates other departments on systems and workflows as needed (e.g., Salesforce product records, OrderDesk, etc.)
  • Coordinates and submits internal product purchase requests in alignment with inventory needs and promotional schedules
  • Processes and manages customer orders requiring manual fulfillment through select vendors, ensuring timely delivery and constituent satisfaction
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
  • Office environment in Colorado Springs, CO
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; occasional flexibility for urgent projects
  • Hybrid eligible after six months, per manager approval and team needs

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in e-commerce, merchandising, or digital retail operations
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms such as BigCommerce, Shopify, or custom agency-built solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, sorting/filtering, basic pivot tables)
  • Familiarity with digital platforms including Salesforce, Aprimo, Box, OrderDesk, Anedot
  • Understanding of Product Information Management (PIM) fundamentals
  • Competence with CMS platforms and digital file management
  • Working knowledge of SEO basics and HTML formatting
  • Basic QA mindset for product and promotional review
  • Experience managing digital content across sales and donation platforms (e.g., AWS, iTunes)
  • Working knowledge of FOF mission, philosophy, values, and objectives
Pay Range: $26.00 to $30.00/hr
