Short Description: The E-Commerce merchandiser plays a crucial role in creating visually appealing and engaging online shopping experiences for customers. They are responsible for curating and optimizing product presentations, layouts, and overall aesthetics on the e-commerce platform. By leveraging their creativity and understanding of consumer behavior, the E-Commerce Merchandiser ensures that the e-commerce site or platform effectively showcases products and drives sales.
Duties / Responsibilities: Develop and implement visual merchandising strategies and guidelines that align with the brand identity, target audience, and overall business objectives.
Effectively manage the aesthetic presentation of the online assortment, including product information, category information, and website merchandising to influence sales and conversion, while balancing marketing initiatives and brand focus.
Curate and optimize the presentation of products on the e-commerce platform, ensuring that they are visually appealing, well-organized, and easy to navigate. This includes product categorization, product placement, and image selection to maximize visual impact.
Collaborate with the marketing, e-commerce, and design teams to select and create compelling product imagery, videos, and other visual assets that effectively communicate product features, benefits, and brand values.
Manage the merchandising calendar to accurately schedule website content and organize support for digital marketing efforts.
Monitor website content and product assortments, ensuring that product information is accurate and up to date.
Visually merchandise category/collection pages to ensure products are displayed in the correct order to optimize conversion.
Oversee backend processes for launching products online, including tracking product data workflow, images, and attributes.
Perform quality assurance to ensure accuracy of product data and promotional content on a daily basis, as well as taking responsibility for correcting and facilitating any fixes.
Track changes in product assortment and ensure changes are reflected during site preparations.
Analyze weekly selling reports to identify best/worst performing items and determine merchandising decisions to improve performance.
Perform ongoing uploads of all product information including new product additions and product changes.
Plan and execute visual merchandising strategies for seasonal campaigns, product launches, and promotional events. This involves creating dedicated landing pages, banners, and other visual elements to drive customer engagement and conversion.
Optimize site navigation and user experience by ensuring intuitive categorization, effective filtering options, and seamless product browsing. Continuously monitor and improve the customer journey through A/B testing and data analysis.
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging e-commerce best practices related to visual merchandising. Apply this knowledge to enhance the online shopping experience and maintain a competitive edge.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, visual, sales, design, and e-commerce to align visual merchandising efforts with overall brand strategy and business goals. Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual coherence across all touchpoints.
Regularly monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to visual merchandising, such as clock-through rates, conversion rates, and average order value. Use insights to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
Skills / Requirements / Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, Merchandising, User Experience, or Statistics or in a related field
2-5 years of progressive experience in Marketing/E-Commerce in the apparel industry.
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Familiarity with SAP, NetSuite, OMS, Magento, and Shopify systems is a plus.
Familiarity with digital marketing concepts and tools, including SEO, SEM, and social media, to support visual merchandising efforts.
Demonstrates a high degree of personal and professional integrity.
Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, user experience (UX) principles, and online consumer behaviors.
Excellent creative and design skills with a keen eye for aesthetics, color, and composition.
Excellent Problem-solving skills.
Must be team-oriented, open to taking direction, and able to work well under pressure.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills; proficient in working with large data sets.
Ability to develop & and implement strategies according to plans, monitor progress, and make the necessary adjustments to achieve objectives.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and changing environment Strong planning skills with expertise in multitasking.
High technological proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Google Analytics, data visualization tools, and Adobe Photoshop. Computer Skills: Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, especially Microsoft 365.
A strong written and verbal ability to establish trustworthy and durable relationships with suppliers and colleagues
