Responsibilities

Provide clients, visitors, professionals and staff going to and from Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation locations via safe and secure means of transportation as efficiently and promptly as possible.

  • Provide scheduled, non-scheduled, and emergency transportation to patients, clients, staff, workshop participants and visitors to and from airport, bus depots, train depots, motels, clinics, dentists, halfway houses, hospitals and other locations as needed.
  • Maintain department written documentation following defined procedures.
  • Provide maintenance of transportation vehicles, wash bay, and garage.
  • Provide office coverage in absence of office personnel
  • Assess the situations that may occur with Hazelden clients while in the drivers care to assure safe transport.

    • Determine whether the client is suitable to be transported safely.

    • Determine whether to transport client or activate emergency medical response systems.

    • Report any unusual behaviors or concerns to appropriate departments

  • Responsible for professional driving and safety measures at all times while representing Hazelden.
  • Represent Hazelden in a professional manner at all times.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current valid driver's license in good standing
  • Continually meet Hazelden Betty Ford's driver qualification criteria
  • Current CPR or BLS certification or completed within 30 days of hire
    • Certification must be from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
