Drama Teacher - South Birmingham
Full-Time or Part-Time KS3 & KS4 QTS or Experienced Instructor
A secondary school in South Birmingham is looking to appoint a Drama Teacher on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexibility on working days for the right candidate. The school has a strong focus on the performing arts and is looking for someone who can teach engaging drama lessons and actively support extracurricular drama activities across the academic year.
About the Role:
Teaching Drama to KS3 and KS4 students.
Delivering lessons focused on performance, devising, character work, and script analysis.
Supporting students in developing confidence, creativity, and communication skills.
Planning and assessing work in line with curriculum expectations.
Taking a lead or active role in extracurricular activities, such as:
School productions or showcases (termly and annual events).
Drama clubs or lunchtime workshops.
Theatre visits and enrichment trips.
Supporting students preparing for exams or auditions.
What They're Looking For:
A qualified teacher (QTS) or an experienced Drama Instructor with proven classroom experience.
Someone confident in managing practical and active lessons with secondary-aged students.
Strong subject knowledge and a creative approach to planning.
Good classroom management and the ability to build strong student engagement.
A genuine interest in contributing to the wider school culture through performing arts events and drama-based extracurricular work.
Additional Info:
Start date: ASAP or after half term.
Days: Flexible - full-time or part-time (2-5 days per week).
Location: South Birmingham - accessible by public transport.
Pay: MPS/UPS or competitive instructor rate depending on qualifications and experience.
