Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Drainage Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in Hydrology and Hydraulics design and permitting, a Professional Engineering (PE) license in Nevada is preferred but not required, and expertise in drainage engineering within the Las Vegas Valley. This role requires proficiency in HEC-1, HEC-RAS, HY-22, HY-8 and WSPG software, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to draft comprehensive Technical Drainage Studies. The successful candidate will also have experience navigating both local, state and FEMA regulatory permitting processes.

Typical Project Types:

Land development projects: office and commercial sites, single-family and multi-family residential sites, retail development sites

Storm drainage systems for urban roadways, rural highways, sidewalks, and shared-use paths

Stormwater management systems including: water quality treatment design (BMP) and water quantity attenuation design.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and engineering of drainage systems for various development and roadway projects

Prepare and document Technical Drainage Studies detailing all elements of the drainage design

Oversee permitting processes and successfully obtain approvals from local, state and federal regulatory agencies

Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project scope, budget, and schedules

Maintain strong client relationships, fostering repeat business through excellent service

Mentor and guide junior staff members, fostering their technical and professional development

Requirements:

Proficiency in HEC-1, HEC-RAS, HY-22, HY-8 and WSPG software

Strong knowledge of local and state regulatory permitting processes

Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presenting technical information

Experience working within a team-oriented environment

Ability to manage projects, maintain schedules and budgets, and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills:

Experience mentoring and leading junior engineers and designers

Strong organizational and attention-to-detail abilities

Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
