Job Title: CAD Drafter/DesignerJob Description
We are seeking a talented CAD Drafter/Designer for a contract-to-hire position. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor drawings specifically for the fabrication floor. You will convert customer drawings into shop drawings or create new drawings from scratch for custom parts. Additionally, you must be comfortable measuring parts in the shop and accompanying sales personnel to customer sites to assist with bids and quotes.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor for manufacturing purposes.
- Convert customer drawings into shop drawings or create new drawings from scratch for custom parts.
- Collaborate with sales personnel to provide support during customer bids and quotes.
- Measure parts directly in the shop to ensure accuracy in drawings.
- Ensure all drawings meet deadlines and communicate effectively with team members.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
- Strong drafting skills with a focus on sheet metal and steel.
- Ability to create accurate shop drawings from customer specifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in designing for integrators supplying conveyors.
- Relevant certifications in CAD drafting and design are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Work Environment
The position is based in an office adjacent to a fabrication shop, with exposure to dust and dirt, yet it remains a conducive environment for productivity. You will work closely with the owner and project managers who have high expectations and require quick turnarounds. The work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, in a high-paced setting that offers exposure to various aspects of the business.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
