Drafter/Designer
Job Description
We are seeking a talented Drafter/Designer to join our team in a role focused on drafting and designing cabinetry. In this position, you will primarily work with AutoCAD, contributing to kitchen, bath, and cabinetry projects. You will have the opportunity to expand your skills and take on additional responsibilities over time. This role supports our technical sales department by liaising with retail and commercial customers to facilitate designing, quoting, creating technical drawings, and processing orders for luxury kitchen projects.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed drawings for presentation to clients.
- Review architect or designer's plans and develop shop drawings for manufacturers and installers.
- Produce pricing quotes to present to clients and send orders to the factory.
- Work closely with all departments to ensure drawings convey correct information and are error-free, revising as necessary.
- Use SieMatic drawing standards as guidelines.
- Inquire with the factory on pre-sales technical questions.
- Assist the project management team by reviewing and amending orders, drawings, and quotes.
- Aid in solving planning issues and track client orders.
- Troubleshoot installation difficulties and resolve customer complaints.
- Assist with RFIs and addendums.
- Calculate preliminary cabinet costs using Siematic pricing software (CARAT).
- Prepare project estimates using Microsoft Excel.
- Create written orders, rush orders, and purchase requisitions based on approved shop drawings.
- Review and amend order quotes and confirmations.
- Communicate with internal and external clients on order fulfillment and delivery.
- Expedite replacement and add orders.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Basic construction knowledge.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Experience in kitchen, bathroom, and cabinetry design.
- Ability to continually develop computer-assisted drawing skills and product knowledge.
- Strong customer service orientation toward both internal and external customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CARAT pricing software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Experience working in a commercial environment.
Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work environment with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. The dress code is business casual. Our office in the U.S. headquarters, located in Yardley, features an open area with individual workspaces, promoting collaboration among marketing, accounting, IT, and design teams. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. Our diverse workforce contributes to a dynamic and inclusive company culture.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $28.00/hr.
