Job Summary

As a .NET Developer you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, configuring, and modifying inbound and outbound EDI feeds, including X12 EDI such as 834, 835, and 837 transaction sets.

Job Description

We are seeking a .NET Developer to take the lead in analyzing, designing, configuring, and modifying inbound and outbound EDI feeds, including X12 EDI such as 834, 835, and 837 transaction sets. The role also includes developing and maintaining Microsoft .NET-based backend systems. This position is full-time, a 6-12-month W2 contract, and remote in the US.

Candidates must be able to work on CAI's W2 without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

What You'll Do
  • Take a lead role in analyzing, designing, configuring, and modifying inbound and outbound EDI feeds, including X12 EDI such as 834, 835, and 837 transaction sets, along with proprietary feeds for specific vendors
  • Develop and maintain Microsoft .NET-based backend systems, including scheduled console applications, web applications, and MSMQ-based messaging applications
  • Collaborate with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements and design quality technical solutions, focusing on innovative solutions for complex business needs
  • Provide technical support, including release implementations, on-call, and 24x7 support when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all the client's IT standards, policies, and procedures
  • Lead and participate in project teams in various roles, such as Developer, Technical Lead, and Project Manager, based on experience
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers, partners, and management, including conducting complex technical walkthroughs and reporting project status
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested
What You'll Need

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in software development
  • Recent experience in the healthcare or health insurance industry
  • Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and issue resolution
  • Understanding of X12 EDI transaction sets such as 834, 835, 837
  • Proficiency with the .NET framework, C , and SQL Server
  • Experience with messaging-based technologies such as MSMQ
  • Knowledge of source control solutions such as TFVC or Git
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field
  • Experience with enterprise application integration middleware such as Microsoft BizTalk for message brokering of EDI data
  • Proficiency in design and development of SSIS packages for data integration and migration, and SSRS reporting solutions for SQL Server
  • Familiarity with designing and developing .NET-based RESTful APIs and web services
  • Experience in developing Angular, React, or other single-page web application frameworks
  • Engineering experience with GitLab/Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines

  • Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person.
