Connsci is seeking an experienced DoD Solutions Architect to lead the design, integration, and delivery of mission-critical solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) projects. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding in DoD Enterprise Architecture, legacy systems modernization, cybersecurity policies and frameworks (e.g., RMF, DISA STIGs, NIST 800-53), and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) in alignment with DoD AI policies. They will collaborate closely with internal teams, vendors, and DoD stakeholders to translate mission needs into secure and scalable solutions.

This individual will support the development and execution of strategic technology roadmaps, prepare technical documentation, provide technical leadership across responses and engagements, and deliver innovative prototypes and proof of concepts that demonstrate real-world value. As a technical subject matter expert (SME), they will also advise DoD stakeholders on best practices and identify scalable solutions. This role demands a self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit, a strong technical background, and the ability to navigate complex DoD environments to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Key Responsibilities
• Solution Architecture Design: Develop scalable and resilient architectures for DoD projects, integrating legacy systems with modern technologies while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies.
• Enterprise Architecture Leadership: Lead the design and optimization of DoD Enterprise Architecture, ensuring alignment with DoD standards, including DISA, RMF, and NIST 800-53 frameworks.
• Legacy Systems Integration: Modernize and integrate legacy DoD systems with new platforms and emerging technologies, maintaining operational integrity and enhancing mission readiness.
• Cybersecurity Compliance: Ensure solutions adhere to DoD cybersecurity policies, including FISMA, DISA STIGs, and RMF guidelines for Information Assurance (IA).
• AI Strategy Development: Design and implement AI-driven solutions that align with DoD AI strategies and emerging federal guidelines.
• Innovation and Thought Leadership: Identify opportunities for process improvement and technology enhancement, leveraging AI, cloud-based solutions, and emerging technologies.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Connsci's executive team, engineers, and federal clients to translate mission requirements into effective technical solutions.

Location: This role will be able to work primarily remotely (up to 90%) but does require some office time for team meetings/collaborative initiatives as well as occasional client site visits around the DC Metro region.

• Leader: Able to lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers Basic Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 7 years of experience in solution architecture to include experience with: Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). Networking, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and cybersecurity protocols. Systems architecture, design, and integration.
• At least 7 years of experience working within DoD environments to include experience with: DoD Enterprise Architecture and legacy systems. DoD cybersecurity policies (FISMA, NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, RMF). AI technologies and DoD AI policy implementation. Modernizing legacy DoD systems and integrating with cloud-based and AI-driven technologies. DoD mission systems or command-and-control (C2) environments.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting capture, technical proposal development, or solutioning for federal bids (e.g., RFI/RFP responses) Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Certifications: CISSP, CEH, AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or similar
