A law firm seeks a detail-oriented and experienced Document Review Attorney to join its complex litigation team. This role plays a critical part in reviewing and analyzing documents produced in discovery, ensuring they are coded and classified according to case-specific guidelines. The position is available on a full-time, part-time, or flexible basis, with options for remote or in-office work. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Duties

  • Document Review & Analysis
    • Conduct thorough document reviews to assess relevance, privilege, confidentiality, and other specified categories by case guidelines.
    • Assist in the creation of privilege logs and support redaction processes.
  • Work closely with project managers, attorneys, and team members to ensure the efficient and accurate completion of document review tasks.
  • Provide regular updates and descriptive progress reports to project management.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Participate in quality control processes to maintain the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of the document review work.
    • Ensure compliance with established review protocols and standards.
  • Case Support
    • Maintain comprehensive and organized review documentation to support case development.
    • Contribute to other document-related tasks as needed, ensuring timely completion and high-quality work.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • Previous experience in legal document review, e-discovery, or litigation support is preferred.
    • Familiarity with document management software and e-discovery platforms.
  • Skills
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle a high volume of documents.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with a state bar association is required.

  • Legal Research & Software
    • Proficiency in legal research and document management software is required.
  • Document Review Expertise
    • Ability to identify relevant documents, and privilege issues, and maintain confidentiality throughout the review process.
  • Communication
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and management.
