Hood Industries, Inc. is seeking a Division People Operations Manager for our Plywood Division. This role is a key position supporting the Vice President of People Operations. This position will collaborate with executive management, on-site People Operations managers, and plant management in all aspects of human resources. The Plywood Division consists of two plywood facilities, located in Beaumont, MS and Wiggins, MS, comprised of roughly 600 employees. This pivotal position integrates you as a strategic business partner supporting the strategic alignment of business objectives for all people-related activities within our Plywood Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become an expert practitioner of "The Hood Way". Guide others in the organization, at all levels, to ensure that our company operates according to "The Hood Way".
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement People strategies that support divisional goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate the recruitment process for key positions within the division, ensuring the attraction, selection, and onboarding of top talent. Develop and execute effective retention strategies to minimize turnover and maximize employee engagement.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to divisional leadership on employee relations matters, providing guidance and support to ensure a fair and respectful workplace environment. Address employee concerns and grievances promptly and professionally.
  • Provide coaching and support to division leaders through performance reviews and setting meaningful goals.
  • Identify training needs within the division and coordinate the delivery of training programs to enhance employee skills and competencies. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Utilize data and analytics to measure People Operations effectiveness within the division. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on key People Operations metrics, trends, and insights.
  • Help set and adhere to the annual manning budget based on the needs of the division with a vision towards future needs and efficiency.
  • Stay informed about employment laws and regulations, ensuring divisional compliance and adherence to policies and procedures. Conduct regular audits and assessments to mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate effective management of difficult employee leave of absence occurrences.
  • Direct and lead various projects essential to improving talent acquisition, employee engagement, turnover, performance, and succession planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience in human resources at the professional/management level. Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in strategy development, talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibited leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SHRM or HRCI Certification is a plus.
