POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Division Director will serve as the strategic and operational leader for AMP's Atlanta market, overseeing regional performance and growth. This relational and results-driven leader will act as a pioneer, dedicated to building AMP's presence in the Atlanta area and growing market share through strong leadership and a commitment to excellence. They will lead, coach, and support a team of project managers and field service technicians performing NETA testing for both new construction and existing facilities. In this role, you will be overseeing a project management team that is working on some of the largest data center projects in Georgia, in collaboration with some of the most prominent contractors in the Southeast. The Division Director is responsible for aligning local decision-making with AMP's broader business goals, while actively developing trusted relationships with both internal stakeholders and clients. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance day-to-day execution with long-term vision, ensuring financial performance, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. Reporting directly to the CEO and COO, this is a high-impact role with the opportunity to shape AMP's success in a key growth market.
POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Regional Leadership & Strategic Direction
- Lead AMP's Atlanta operations by making informed, strategic decisions that align with company-wide goals.
- Serve as the face of the region, embodying and reinforcing AMP's culture, values, and vision.
Oversee Project & Operational Execution
- Supervise a project management team responsible for delivering large-scale data center projects, including NETA acceptance and maintenance testing, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
Develop and Manage Customer Relationships
- Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with clients, including top general and electrical contractors in the Southeast.
- Act as a strategic partner to clients, solving problems and adding value from preconstruction through closeout.
Drive Market Growth & Business Development
- Establish AMP's presence in the Atlanta market, drive market share growth, and identify new business opportunities, both new construction and existing facilities (maintenance) testing through strong relationships and industry insight.
Lead, Coach & Develop Staff
- Manage and mentor project managers and field service technicians.
- Cultivate a team culture grounded in accountability, performance, and care. Build trust and respect among technical teams through authentic leadership.
Financial Oversight & Profitability Management
- Own divisional P&L responsibility.
- Monitor project budgets, billing accuracy, margins, and resource allocation to drive profitability and sustainable growth.
Implement Strategic Planning & Integration
- Translate AMP's strategic goals into actionable plans for the Atlanta region.
- Integrate new policies, systems, and processes to improve project delivery, operational efficiency, and team cohesion.
Ensure Operational Reporting & Accountability
- Attend weekly leadership meetings (EOSs), manage KPIs, and provide regular updates to AMP's executive team. Continuously seek ways to improve processes and performance.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Leadership & Team Development
- 10+ years managing large-scale construction projects and contractor business operations
- Proven success leading cross-functional teams, including project managers and front line teammates, With a focus on coaching, mentoring, and organizational alignment
- Skilled in fostering a positive, high-performance culture rooted in attentiveness, integrity, and dependability
Strategic & Operational Management
- Experienced in divisional oversight, including staffing, workload analysis, contract negotiation, and resource allocation
- Adept at aligning market-level operations with broader organizational objectives and culture across geographic distance
- Track record of driving profitability and operational excellence in dynamic and deadline-driven environments
Business Development & Client Relations
- Strong background in customer-facing roles, building trust with general contractors, electrical contractors, and mission-critical facility owners
- Expertise in developing relationships with major clients in data center construction, utilities, and industrial sectors
- Ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities, enhancing AMP's market share and brand reputation in Metro Atlanta
Construction & Commissioning Expertise
- Deep knowledge of electrical testing (NETA), commissioning, or construction management.
- Familiar with short-circuit coordination studies, acceptance and maintenance testing, and compliance standards
- Experience in working alongside top general contractors to drive schedule, budget, and safety goals
Financial Oversight & Performance Measurement
- P&L responsibility and KPI-based performance management (financial, operational, quality, compliance, and BD)
- Skilled in developing and executing annual budgets, strategic plans, and operational improvements that directly impact market success
- Experience implementing systems to streamline operations and ensure fiscal accountability
Communication & Cultural Alignment
- High emotional intelligence with a relational leadership style; known for being kind, calm under pressure, and deeply committed to team wellbeing
