Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic District Sales Manager to lead the growth and development of Banfi Vintners' portfolio of products within your designated district. This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive sales and build strong relationships with distributors and key accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage distributor relationships to meet sales targets, including shipments, depletions, and distribution.
  • Ensure compliance and execution across all trade channels.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet annual goals.
  • Ensure distributor accounts receivable are up to date and follow company policies.
  • Recap distributor and sales channel performance, adhering to corporate guidelines.
  • Update and manage pricing documents in line with Banfi's pricing strategy.
  • Develop innovative distributor incentive programs to achieve monthly and quarterly sales objectives.
  • Successfully launch new products by meeting distributor requirements and adhering to marketing execution standards.
  • Participate in creating the annual business plan for your market.
  • Develop and implement brand strategies in collaboration with distributors.
  • Assess distributor performance and enhance their capabilities to align with Banfi's sales strategies.
  • Represent company brand strategies to trade effectively.
  • Engage with retail, on-premise, and chain accounts independently or with distributor sales staff.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of products, the wine industry, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
  • Foster cross-departmental relationships, particularly between sales and marketing, to implement Banfi's brand strategies.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor when interacting with suppliers and represent their brands responsibly.
  • Exercise fiscal responsibility in managing budgets and promotional expenditures.
  • Acquisition and management of new accounts, ensuring all orders are approved at corporate headquarters.
  • Conduct wine tastings and dinners to engage potential clients.
  • Train staff at on-premise and off-premise accounts about Banfi wine products.
  • Be available for evening and weekend work as needed to meet objectives and complete administrative tasks.
  • Order promotional materials and point-of-sale (POS) items for distributors.
  • Set display goals, track activity, and report results to supervisors.
  • Establish standards for shelf space and cold box placements; execute effective strategies with distributors.
  • Coordinate in-store tastings with distributors.
Job Execution Breakdown
  • 60% Field Work (independently or with sales representatives)

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
  • A four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills that promote leadership and collaboration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC systems.
  • Ability to analyze financial and statistical data proficiently.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands necessary for this job include the ability to use hands and eyes for computer work, reach with arms, stand, sit, kneel, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds (approximately the weight of a case of wine). You must understand the responsible distribution of alcoholic beverages while performing your duties.
