Responsibilities: - Lead and motivate a dynamic team of Territory Managers (TMs) to achieve sales goals, improve account penetration, and reduce customer churn. Design and implement both long-term and short-term sales strategies that resonate with business objectives.
- Guide TMs in targeting high-quality leads and assist in converting these leads into new accounts, focusing on collaboration with the New Business Manager for significant opportunities.
- Manage and oversee the annual street sales operating plan and budget, ensuring all sales-related expenses are tracked and performance is assessed to identify and address any gaps.
- Utilize the Sales Coordinator role to streamline administrative processes, allowing TMs to focus on customers. Collaborate effectively with various specialists across the organization to amplify sales results.
- Plan and facilitate product presentations and demonstrations, creating tailored sales and marketing strategies for customers based on thorough market research.
- Compile and communicate sales data to aid in product and service planning, while helping to organize district sales meetings and events in partnership with Marketing and Merchandising teams.
- Utilize Sales Foundations tools and processes effectively to enhance sales growth, boost additional revenue, and uphold exceptional customer service standards.
- Inspire, coach, and train TMs on maximizing account penetration and securing quality leads, while ensuring their accountability and capacity for achieving set goals.
- Recruit and nurture new talent, providing ongoing mentorship and practical field support to identify coaching opportunities and training needs.
- Regularly assess the performance of TMs against established plans, implementing performance improvements or necessary disciplinary actions when required. Assist TMs in enhancing their organization and territory strategies.
- Stay informed on industry trends and product developments that impact target markets, forming valuable connections that may lead to sales opportunities.
- Develop targeted lists of potential customers and engage in sales calls to foster relationships while monitoring lead follow-ups with the sales team. Conduct regular Customer Business Reviews to analyze needs and identify areas for improvement.
- Facilitate improved customer and delivery alignment, enhancing overall engagement and satisfaction.
- Ensure adherence to company policies within the sales department, promoting a culture of compliance and excellence.
- Work to maintain effective staffing levels within the sales organization, thereby minimizing turnover and fostering a positive workplace environment.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Education/Training: - A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
Related Experience: - A minimum of five years of foodservice sales experience is required.
- A minimum of two years of supervisory experience is required.
- Overnight travel may be necessary to attend training sessions, meetings, or other company events.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills are essential.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with proven customer service and presentation abilities.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Licenses: - A valid driver's license is required.
- Candidates with a DUI conviction within the last three years will not be considered eligible.
