Job Title: District Receptionist

Reports to: Chief Communications Officer

Dept/School: Administration/Communications

Work Year: 226 days

Base Salary: $34,000 Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Serve as the initial contact for visitors entering the Administration building. Greet and direct visitors to the appropriate areas. Serve as the primary phone operator for the District and provide general office assistance such as putting up the mail, contacting custodial as needed, and utilizing the Hall Pass visitor identification system.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Some college preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of office equipment, such as copiers, scanners, fax, and computers
Knowledge of multi-line phone system
Ability to work in a multi-task environment
High degree of ethical behavior and confidentiality
Proficient typing and word processing skills
Excellent interpersonal skills in order to insure positive relations with all patrons

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Assist in directing callers and visitors to appropriate personnel.
Assist in directing visitors attending meetings and trainings.
Assist in answering questions from prospective and current parents and students.
Have a good working knowledge of the District and information on the District website.
Assist in determining information that needs to be more accessible based on calls and questions.
Maintain confidentiality.
Operate office equipment.
Sort mail in the delivery room.
Perform other duties as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:
Frisco ISD retains the right to adjust the responsibilities and assignments of all positions as needed to meet the needs of the District.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Prolonged use of the computer and other office equipment. Repetitive hand motions.
