Position Summary

Glenbard Township High School District 87 is seeking a qualified candidate with advanced technical support knowledge of a variety of network protocols and standards. Candidates must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while adapting to a dynamic working environment. Professional in demeanor, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and relates well to other employees.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, a high level of attention to detail, and effective communication skills. The Accountant will contribute directly to the district's financial health, supporting the academic success and overall well-being of the students in Glenbard District 87.

Qualifications
  • High School graduate, or equivalent.
  • BA/BS or three (3) years or more in a related position preferred
  • Preferred; Certifications Network+, CCNA, VCTA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Not all inclusive)
  • Supports, manages, and ensures the operating capability of both the LAN and WAN networks, both wireless and wired, with 24/7 support
  • Troubleshoots sub-systems, network devices, and applications to identify malfunctions and works to eliminate any identified operational difficulties.
  • Schedules preventative maintenance and applies security updates as released to ensure optimal performance of network infrastructure and networked devices
  • Develops the network topography design and maintains a visual workflow of network devices to assist with debugging network-related issues
  • Performs hardware evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure the network operates in compliance and meets user satisfaction
  • Researches, recommends and implements enhancements to hardware or configuration adjustments that regulate network availability.
  • Oversees the operation of VOIP-related systems and confirms E911 compliance
  • Develops and maintains documentation of standardized procedures and practices that will be adhered to by building technicians
  • Maintains disaster prevention efforts, confirming critical data sources are backed up
  • Assists with supporting all school facilities, equipment/resources as needed
  • Completes assigned support request tickets in a timely and efficient manner
  • Completes systematic analysis of network traffic and bandwidth utilization with ISP
  • Uses initiative and judgment in effecting emergency repairs
  • Communicates effectively with support team members and school administrators
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Work is usually conducted at one job site, however, on occasion, this employee will be required to attend meetings, conferences, or workshops and events at other sites as assigned.
