POSITION STATEMENT

We are seeking a dynamic District Manager to lead the sales and development of the Banfi Vintners portfolio of products within a designated district. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive professional who is eager to drive growth and establish strong relationships in the wine industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage distributors to meet goals for shipments, depletions, and distribution.
  • Ensure execution and compliance across all channels of trade.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to achieve annual program goals.
  • Oversee Distributor Accounts Receivable in alignment with Banfi Corporation Policies.
  • Recap distributor and sales channel depletions while adhering to company policies.
  • Keep Pricing Documents up to date internally and at distributors according to Banfi's Pricing Strategy.
  • Design effective Distributor Incentive Programs to reach monthly targets while maintaining budgetary responsibilities.
  • Facilitate successful new product launches according to distributor requirements and marketing execution standards.
  • Participate actively in the annual business planning process for your market.
  • Develop and implement branding strategies for the geographic area, ensuring direct responsibility for distributor performance.
  • Assess distributor performance regularly.
  • Guide wholesalers in adopting and implementing brand strategies through the Banfi Sales Process.
  • Ensure that distributors manage Banfi's National brand strategies effectively.
  • Engage with retail and on-premise accounts independently or collaboratively with distributor sales forces.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of wine products and the competitive landscape.
  • Build cross-departmental relationships to support Banfi's branding efforts.
  • Maintain professionalism and represent supplier brands with integrity.
  • Uphold fiduciary responsibility in financial matters including budgets and promotional expenses.
  • Drive sales, develop new accounts, and maintain established relationships, completing all sales orders at corporate headquarters.
  • Conduct engaging wine tastings and dinners.
  • Train staff at on-premise and off-premise accounts on Banfi's wine products.
  • Be prepared to work evenings and weekends as necessary to meet goals.
  • Order and manage Banfi Point of Sale materials for distributors.
  • Set display goals and track activity, reporting evaluations to management.
  • Establish shelf and cold box standards, ensuring execution with distributors.
  • Coordinate in-store tastings with distributors.
Job execution will break into the following components:
  • 60% fieldwork (independently or with reps)
  • 20% interaction with wholesalers
  • 20% administrative tasks and follow-up
QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following:
  • A four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC use.
  • Ability to interpret financial and statistical data accurately.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The role requires regular use of hands and vision for computer tasks, general mobility, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, equivalent to a case of wine. It involves occasional standing, sitting, kneeling, and sensory tasks related to tasting and smelling wine products.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel overnight as needed.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions for wholesalers and retailers.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • No DWI offenses or illegal drug use history.
  • Must use a clean, presentable vehicle for business with a company auto allowance provided.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing the alcoholic beverage industry, maintaining the highest ethical standards.
