The Florida Department of Health (DOH) is responsible for the health and safety of all citizens and visitors to the state. As a public health agency, the Florida Department of Health must monitor the health status of Floridians, diagnose, and investigate health problems, and mobilize local communities to address health-related issues. The Florida Department of Health develops policies and plans that support health goals, enforce laws and regulations that protect the health of all residents and visitors, and link people to needed health care services. The Florida Department of Health also provides specialized assistance to pregnant women, infants, and children with special health care needs, regulates health care practitioners, and provides medical disability determinations.
In this position, you will be tasked with delivering first-level desktop support and resolving technical issues for both local and remote users. Your responsibilities will encompass providing technical assistance across software, hardware, printers, and account management. As a representative of the Florida Department of Health, professionalism is paramount, requiring you to be consistently helpful, cooperative, polite, respectful, and courteous in all customer interactions. This team member assists various locations, necessitating frequent travel. The individual should possess the ability to:

Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service and support.
- Support approved software, hardware, and peripherals for all departments. Provide technical support and resolution for software and hardware issues. Conduct regular preventative maintenance for desktops, laptops, and printers. Keep customers updated on help desk tickets and warranty repair statuses.
- Perform support duties for the Avaya VoIP Telephone system.
- Track and report all actions using the Service Desk+ Help Desk application. Ensure a safe workplace by following issued safety guidelines.
- Serve as the primary customer contact, adhering to policies, verifying software installations, logging Help Desk tickets, coordinating equipment setup for events, and maintaining excellence in customer service.
- Execute tasks directed by the Distributed Computer System Administrator - SES.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly self-motivated and quick to grasp new concepts.
- Effective prioritization and execution of tasks in high-pressure environments. Experience in both independent and collaborative teamwork settings.
- Exceptional customer service orientation.
- Occasional travel flexibility between training locations.
- Excellent communication skills for technical information delivery.
- Proficiency in distributed processing operations, procedures, and equipment.
- Problem-solving skills and knowledge of computers, software, and programming principles. Establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships.
- Logical information processing and problem-solving capabilities. Development of training programs for distributed processing operations. Monitoring and resolution of distributed computer system problems.
- Identification and definition of user task needs.
- Effective planning, organizing, and coordination of work assignments.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- A minimum of 1 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- A minimum of 1 years of IT help desk experience
- A valid driver's license
Preferred:
- Fluent in Second Language
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security

- Associate's or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience of IT help desk (Desktop Support) experience
