Job Description

MLG is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Discovery Paralegal to play a key role in managing discovery production for complex litigation, regulatory responses, and investigations. This individual will lead the coordination, organization, and execution of discovery obligations with a strong emphasis on accuracy, defensibility, and efficiency in the production of documents and data.


FLSA: Exempt


Duties Include:

  • Manage all aspects of the discovery production lifecycle, including document collection, review coordination, privilege review tracking, redaction, and final production.
  • Train internal teams on discovery protocols and legal hold processes.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, other paralegals, case managers, and outside counsel to prepare and deliver timely, accurate, and compliant document productions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (IT, compliance, HR) to gather and preserve electronically stored information (ESI) relevant to legal matters.
  • Review and QC documents for responsiveness, privilege, confidentiality, and production readiness.
  • Use eDiscovery tools to manage document review databases, apply search filters, run reports, and ensure defensible productions.
  • Assist in drafting and responding to discovery requests including interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas.
  • Maintain detailed tracking logs of productions, custodians, and metadata to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on discovery protocols and provide training/support to junior staff as needed.
  • Stay current on legal developments related to discovery, privilege, data protection, and production standards.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Paralegal certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of paralegal experience, with at least 5 years focused on litigation discovery and document production.

Skills:

  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Sheets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong telecommunication skills.
  • Empathetic, caring, and persuasive communication skills.
  • Fluency in the use of computer systems including email programs, internet usage, customer relationship management systems, and proven ability to apply computer skills to new systems.
  • Self-starter with the ability to effectively manage multiple matters at once.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Supervisors - Reports to the VP of Litigation.

Status - Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Location - Beautiful office environment at the Segerstrom Performing Arts Center, across from South Coast Plaza.

Salary - Starting at $90k, depending on experience.
