Director, Workday Programs


This Director, Workday Programs provides strategic oversight of Brown's Workday system and related programmatic functions, serving as a key partner to functional teams and executive leadership to ensure alignment with institutional goals. The role leads the Workday Program team, overseeing day-to-day operations, service delivery, and business processes, while driving both short- and long-term initiatives aimed at optimizing and enhancing the University's use of Workday. With a focus on continuous improvement, this position plays a critical role in maximizing the value of Brown's ERP investment by supporting centralized administrative processes, policy implementation, and evolving data needs across the institution.


In collaboration with the ACIO, Enterprise Applications, this position is responsible for managing and advancing university-wide programmatic initiatives on behalf of Brown's leadership. The incumbent provides strategic leadership for administrative efforts that span multiple departments, ensuring initiatives are executed effectively and aligned with Workday and other institutional systems, processes, and priorities. Serving as the University's Workday subject matter expert, this role delivers critical insight and guidance to support informed decision-making at all levels of the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 10-15 years of IT experience including experience leading operations for Workday required.

  • Functional experience in HR and/or Finance.

  • Direct supervisory/management experience, include experience leading multi-disciplinary teams

  • Experience with student systems preferred.

  • Experience with research administration preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in leading organization-wide projects involving complex systems and business processes.

  • Strong project management experience.

  • Higher education experience is preferred.

  • Experience with developing and implementing change management, communications, and training plans for end-users.

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically to adjust to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.

  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple efforts and responsibilities simultaneously.

  • Comfortable presenting to large groups on behalf of Workday Operations and Brown University

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and to manage in a matrix organization
