As Product Marketing Director of Strategic Initiatives, this role holds P&L accountability for developing categories and new businesses aligned with BISSELL growth ambitions. They will play a significant role in leading cross-functional teams in both the USA and international markets. This role is responsible for achieving sales, gross margin and allocable operating income. They are also responsible for all innovation activities including identifying key consumer insights/"jobs to be done", prioritizing new opportunities to align with business priorities, developing 3-year roadmap with meaningful innovation and new products, aligning go-to-market and launch strategies across regions, driving cost improvements, and identifying post-launch product improvement areas.


Finally, they are also responsible for helping to grow and develop their team and driving progress on other key organizational initiatives as needed.


POSITION PROFILE

  • Responsible for delivering sales, gross margin, operating budget, advertising budget, cost reduction, AOI and profit goals for category(s) of responsibility;
  • Develops and aligns the organization to a compelling Global Category Strategy;
  • Spearhead the development of a sufficient and attractive 3 year product innovation calendar, aligning cross-functional leaders, regional partners, and the VP/GM;
  • Develops and delivers 1 year marketing plan;
  • Represents the Voice of the Consumer and all that this implies relative to:
  • Development of go to market strategies
  • Cross-functional and customer communication;
  • Develops product and consumer programs by partnering with the relevant channel, account or regional teams;
  • Partners with Sales & Market Research to grow category share and optimize product assortment to maximize growth and profitability for BISSELL and our retail customers:
  • Grows unit and dollar share in total and on critical products;
  • Delivers a global approach that balances maintaining share leadership in North America, while accelerating growth across the globe;
  • Builds the business through the use of qualitative and quantitative market research;
  • Leads, coaches and manages the development of direct reports. Ensure that they have a defined and agreed to career path and that their development coincides with the stated goals;
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:


  • Degree minimum: Bachelor's degree
  • Specific concentration: Marketing
  • Experience level: Ten+ years in marketing

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:


  • MBA
