Trillium Professional has a direct hire opportunity for a Director of Transportation Engineering, this role can be based out of Columbus, OH or Indianapolis, IN.
Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic direction and vision for the transportation design engineering department.
• Develop and implement long-term goals, business plans, and initiatives to drive the growth and success of the department.
• Oversee the planning, design, and execution of transportation projects, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
• Act as a project director on key initiatives, leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional engineering solutions.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers, designers, and project managers.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work culture, encouraging professional development and knowledge-sharing among team members.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations.
• Collaborate with clients to develop project scopes, deliverables, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex engineering issues.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in transportation engineering.
• Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of engineering designs and deliverables.
• Review and approve engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
Annual salary is up to $180k/year. The annual salary can potentially increase depending on experience. This role can also start out at the VP level, if you have the right experience. The starting salary at the VP level is up to $210k/year. Apply now.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation design engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and OpenRoads/MicroStation
• Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team collaboration.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards, regulations and experience with ODOT and/or INDOT projects.
