Northwell Health has formed a strategic partnership with the NCI-designated Cancer Center at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL). The institutions are deeply committed to fostering collaborations to transform basic science discoveries into new therapies.

The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research (FIMR), with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), now welcomes applications for the inaugural Director of FIMR's Institute of Cancer Research who will also serve as the Robert and Janet Perro Endowed Chair of Cancer Research at FIMR and a full Professor at CSHL.

The Director will be responsible for creating a unique and transformative basic and translational research program that fosters collaborations between FIMR, the Northwell Health Cancer Institute (NHCI) and CSHL. The Director will have the opportunity to recruit faculty, help identify needed resources, and shape the research directions of the Institute. At the same time, the Director will have an independent laboratory to continue pursuing personal research interests.

The ideal candidate will be a leading physician scientist with a track record of applying innovative ideas and diverse methodologies to foster and facilitate translational cancer research in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. Candidates from any area of translational cancer research are invited to apply including but not limited to theranostics, immunology/immunotherapy, cancer neuroscience/physiology, and precision oncology. The successful applicant will hold an MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) and will be a scientific leader at an NCI-designated cancer center or academic research institute. This pivotal position will report directly to the President and CEO of FIMR and will work closely with the CSHL Cancer Center Director to identify collaborative projects, recruit, and build the capabilities needed to take full advantage of this unique strategic partnership.

Compensation will be nationally competitive. The successful applicant will receive a comprehensive start-up and benefits package that includes initial funding in addition to the base salary. The salary of the person selected will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, specialty/subspeciality, credentials, academic and research accomplishments, clinical and/or research productivity, quality metrics, patient experience, site/location internal equity, budget, and Fair Market Value evaluation.
