Position Summary:

The Director of Tax will oversee all aspects of the company's tax strategy, compliance, planning, and reporting. This individual will be a key advisor to senior leadership and will ensure the company meets its tax obligations. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and a proven track record of managing tax functions for a company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the tax function, including income tax compliance, provision, planning, and audits.
  • Develop and implement strategic tax initiatives that align with overall business objectives.
  • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities that support the company's growth and operational goals.
  • Support various tax audits.
  • Oversee monthly sales/use tax and B&O returns.
  • Monitor and interpret tax legislation and regulatory changes to assess potential impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders including Finance, Legal, Treasury, and Accounting.
  • Lead tax-related aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence, structuring, and integration.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing internal tax team; provide guidance and career development support.
  • Expert on current federal and state tax laws.
  • Lead external tax resources and consultants.
  • Represent the company in discussions with tax authorities and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or Master's in Taxation preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive corporate tax experience, including leadership roles within public companies or Big 4 firms.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and partnership tax.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to assess business and tax impacts.
  • Demonstrated success in managing audits, risk, and tax planning in a multinational environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Location: Bellevue, WA - In-office position


Our client offers:

$180,000 to $200,000 base salary range dependent on experience level. Annual bonus based on profitability and performance.
