SSA Holdings, parent company to SSA Group, is looking for a Director of Tax & Licensing who is detail-oriented and has strong leadership and organizational skills. This role will oversee taxes and licensing for SSA Holdings and all related entities. In this role, you will also develop and lead a small team of 2-3 staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. As a strong people manager and motivator, you will ensure your team has the support and resources needed to excel, while driving efficiency and continuous improvement in departmental processes.


Reports to: VP of Accounting

Location: Denver, CO at SSA HQ; job is onsite with some opportunity for remote day(s), but must live in or within commute distance of Denver, CO

Works Alongside: Accounting Team


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage tax reporting
  • Multi-State and Multi-Jurisdictional
  • Sales, Use, and Property Tax
  • Payroll Tax and Withholding compliance
  • Research and analyze all relevant tax laws by state and regulations to ensure entities, customers, and locations are properly reporting sales/use taxes.
  • Manage all tax audits (State and Local agencies)
  • Conduct nexus analyses for sales and gross receipts taxes
  • Vendor management
  • Oversee the onboarding of all new vendors
  • Annual filing of 1099s for all applicable vendors
  • Permits and Licensing
  • Complete processes for business license and permits for all new states and locations
  • Assist with monthly financials preparations
  • Maintain accounting controls, policies and procedures set forth by company, state, and federal guidance

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years in accounting and/or sales/use tax experience with 3+ years working with Multi-State, Multi-jurisdiction
  • Expertise of Microsoft programs
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or Business Central, a plus
