Position Description

The Director of Supply Chain will lead a cross functional team and is responsible for supply and demand planning, network fulfillment, inventory management and related activities for the non-pipe supply chain function. Coordination of the forecast review process with key functional stakeholders as well as purchase order administration for all direct materials. This individual will set the strategy for inventory optimization in the context of superior customer service performance. Develop and maintain network inventory positions at the sku level while maintaining overall inventory efficiency. General oversight of supply and demand management for all stock sku's. Minimize backorders and inventory scrap risk through effective planning and a hands-on, collaborative approach to managing data, processes and results.

This position is located in LOUISVILLE, Kentucky.

What You Will Be Doing (ie: Job Duties)

•   Fosters a culture of transparency, disciplined problem-solving, high-performance work teams, and continuous improvement. Ensure the appropriate team, tools and processes are in place to support these desired cultural traits.
•   Coaches, provides feedback to and develops the team members. Motivates and manages to achieve annual goals/objectives set at the individual and organization level.
•   Manage planning and inventory control processes. Collaborate with warehousing and distribution teams as well as Commercial stakeholders on forecasting. Ownership of the forecast review process
•   Optimize network inventory levels to meet customer service, business continuity and cost objectives
•   Leads a team of buyer/planners including ownership of MRP process
•   Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers
•   Identify, evaluate, and select vendors capable of meeting the organization's requirements, considering factors such as reliability, performance, and compliance
•   Ensures that short and long-term strategies and supplier decisions effectively support the business success
•   Develop inventory management policy and translate that into working models to drive solutions
•   Develop and maintain process maps, cycle times and assist in cycle time optimization to increase inventory velocity
•   Monitor capacity planning in network warehouses as well as manufacturing capacity with vendors
•   Own inventory velocity targets (DOS, turns, inventory $'s) for all in network inventory
•   Develop and manage inventory KPI's such as scrap, slow moving and obsolete, inventory accuracy, on-time and complete shipments to customers, backorder management
•   Develop a continuous improvement culture. Identify and pursue opportunities for improvement. Education/Certification/Licenses/Experience

•   Undergraduate degree from a 4-year college or university (Required)
•   10+ years' experience in global supply chain, logistics, inventory management or distribution function
•   Experience with supervisory roles, managing and developing associates
•   Demonstrated competency with cross-functional engagement and collaboration
•   Expert working knowledge of material planning and inventory management principles
•   APICS certification (Preferred) Skills That Will Make You Successful

•   Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, ERP systems
•   Strong, clear verbal and written communication skills
•   Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines independently and multitask
