Your Role as Director of Speech Therapy Services
  • Strategic Leadership & Vision: Drive the vision and strategic planning for speech-language services, ensuring alignment with special education objectives and diverse student communication needs across multiple school settings.
  • Program Oversight & Compliance: Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of speech therapy programs; establish and enforce policies, procedures, and data-driven metrics to ensure consistent, high-quality, and equitable services.
  • Team Supervision & Development: Supervise and mentor SLPs and SLPAs, offering regular evaluations, guidance, and professional development to build a skilled, collaborative, and effective therapy team.
  • Innovation & Clinical Best Practices: Promote and implement evidence-based practices and innovative interventions, including AAC and assistive technology, to support communication goals and student progress.
  • Collaboration & Integration: Partner with administrators, educational staff, and related service providers to integrate speech therapy within school programs and enhance communication support for students.
  • Operational Management & Resource Allocation: Oversee budgeting, procurement, and management of materials, tools, and staffing to ensure adequate resourcing and consistency in service delivery statewide.
  • Statewide Travel & Support: Travel to school locations across the state to provide direct supervision, ensure program consistency, and support the expansion of in-district speech-language therapy services.
Required Qualifications
  • Educational & Licensure Requirements: Holds a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field and maintains current CCC-SLP licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Clinical & Leadership Experience: Brings over ten years of school-based speech therapy experience, including a minimum of five years in a leadership, supervisory, or administrative role.
  • Crisis Intervention & Student Safety: Skilled in verbal and physical crisis intervention techniques to support students displaying aggressive behaviors, ensuring a safe and responsive environment.
  • Mobility & Emergency Response: Capable of quick, agile movement to physically redirect students in crisis and prevent potential harm to themselves or others.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Able to provide physical assistance during emergency evacuations, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Location & Travel: This is a remote role with 75% travel. The ideal candidate will be local to the Central Pennsylvania area, preferably residing in Lancaster, Pennsylvania 17601.
