Director of Shipbuilding New Construction ( MARAD ) Job Summary We are seeking a Director of Shipbuilding to manage all aspects of the Vessel Construction Management contract with the USDOT Maritime Administration. You will oversee personnel assigned to the project including the shipyard subcontractor and outside teaming partners. The ideal cnadidate will set and achieve high standards of performance for the company. Director of Shipbuilding New Construction Responsibilities Communicate with management personnel at the shipyard and on the various teams that support project construction Provide advice/ instruction as necessary with regards to contractual and company requirements/ procedures Manage the relationships of the organization to the public regarding the project Maintain Government contractual alignment between the company's prime VCM contract and the commercial shipyard subcontract Oversee the program team members and the contracted shipyard that has been selected to build the vessel and all teaming partners responsible regarding but not limited to engineering and information technology Ensure that the subcontractor and all teaming partners are performing in accordance with their contractual statements of work Director of Shipbuilding New Construction Position Requirements 4-year degree or relevant experience in marine transportation, construction management, shipyard management, naval architecture, or marine engineering 5 years of documented Senior Program Management experience in U.S. Government Shipbuilding projects. Financial and budgeting acumen Experience in management of Government contracts is desired.
