Food manufacturer in the Burleson, TX area is seeking a Director of Sales who will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and expand market share within the restaurant and retail channels nationwide. This role requires a deep understanding of the food service and retail landscape and a proven track record of achieving sales targets. The Director of Sales will focus on cultivating strong customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities within the kettle-cooked foods and custom food solutions spaces. Position is HYBRID with some travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sales Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with company objectives to achieve revenue targets and market penetration within the restaurant and retail sectors for both kettle-cooked foods and custom food solutions.
- Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at restaurant chains, retail organizations, distributors, and other relevant stakeholders. Act as a trusted advisor and partner to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the target markets, including prospecting new accounts, developing compelling sales presentations, and negotiating contracts.
- Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs within the kettle-cooked foods and custom food solutions landscape. Provide regular market feedback and insights to inform product development and marketing strategies.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Develop accurate sales forecasts, track sales performance against targets, and provide regular reports to senior management on sales activities, opportunities, and challenges.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with marketing, product development, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and customer satisfaction.
- Budget Management: Manage allocated sales resources effectively to achieve sales goals.
- Trade Show and Industry Event Participation: Represent the company at relevant industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network, build relationships, and generate leads.
- Contract Negotiation and Management: Lead the negotiation of sales agreements and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive sales experience within the food industry, with a strong focus on the restaurant and retail sectors.
- Demonstrable experience selling kettle-cooked food products and/or custom food solutions is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Established network of contacts within the restaurant and retail food industries.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel as required.
