Director of Roadway/Civil Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of professionals, collaborating with other departments as needed to achieve project, program, and regional objectives.
• Provide senior management oversight and guidance for roadway/civil contracts.
• Identify and pursue roadway project and contract opportunities, including both traditional and alternative delivery methods.
• Oversee and actively participate in the design and review of all phases of roadway plan development for various transportation projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia is required.
• 20+ years of civil engineering experience, with significant experience in staff management.
• Proven ability to manage projects and support staff in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Capacity to lead, pursue, and oversee multiple projects and contracts concurrently.
• Strong client management abilities.
• Collaborative mindset with a strong work ethic.

Key Experience:

• Experience in highway design, including roadway geometrics, grading and drainage, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, traffic control, signing and pavement marking, utility coordination, and right-of-way acquisition.
• Expertise in construction plan development.
