Job Title: Quality Director/Risk Management and Patient Safety Officer
Location: Roxboro, NC
Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer
Position Summary:
The Quality Director Risk Management and Patient Safety Officer manages risk activities, investigates claims, and implements patient safety standards to protect the organization's assets and ensure compliance with JCAHO National Patient Safety Goals. This role includes leading risk data analysis, training, and maintaining the Corporate Compliance Program. The position also chairs the Ethics Committee and serves as the facility's Patient Safety Officer
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement departmental goals and standards in line with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical objectives.
- Oversee departmental operations, including patient care delivery, service levels, and complaint management.
- Manage staffing activities: hiring, training, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
- Prepare, monitor, and evaluate budgets to ensure compliance with allocated funding.
- Coordinate and direct internal/external audits and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Promote professional growth and maintain confidentiality of departmental information.
- Support high-quality healthcare delivery professionally and compassionately.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (required).
- Licenses/Certifications: Current NC Nursing License or Multistate Nursing License (required); BLS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in healthcare risk management or claims investigation. Management experience and familiarity with OSHA and JCAHO preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform under pressure and build strong relationships with staff, physicians, and management.
